Vampire Facials & Gold-Plated Needles

The Vampire Facial in which blood is drawn from your arm, just like a blood test, and then inserted into the gold-plated needle system along with hyaluronic acid.

Having never had injectable treatments before, I convinced myself everything was fine and I was too young to worry about it anyway.

However, when Nurse Alice at Harley Street Injectables invited me for a complimentary Aqua Gold Facial, I thought ‘why not’, particularly considering that anything that’s good for Kim Kardashian, is good enough for me. Nurse Alice has a black book of celebrity clients, so I knew I would be in good hands.

As you can imagine, I approached the clinic with a level of trepidation. I need not have worried, as Nurse Alice put me at ease with her friendly attitude and clear explanations about how the treatment is applied. So with Kim K in mind, I set out on my first ‘micro-channel’ facial.  Stand aside Botox and chemical peels, you have already had your turn in this market!

The clinic specialises in AQUAGOLD fine touch, which is a patented gold-plated needle system that is based on technology that delivers your own choice of products via needles that are thinner than a human hair – quite an amazing feat when you think about it.

It is pain free, even on areas that you think could make you squeal. The only sensation I felt was a slightly ‘scratchy’ feeling, but I wouldn’t call it pain at all. Even for those who suffer from ‘needle phobia’, it isn’t an unpleasant experience. I would have to say though that after the third time of my face being treated (part of the process) it did start to feel a little sore.

Would I turn into Kim overnight? Judging by the initial results, my skin had improved leaps and bounds both in quality, touch and feel. It really did look a million dollars, so any slight soreness was soon forgotten.

Vampire facial

Being a brave soldier for a first-timer, Nurse Alice suggested that I try ‘the PRP’, also known as the Vampire Facial. Blood is drawn from your arm, just like a blood test, and then inserted into the gold-plated needle system along with hyaluronic acid.

This enables the blood and plasma to separate, and the plasma is then injected into the face. The whole point of this method is to utilise growth factors in your blood to rejuvenate your skin. No chemicals are used in the process, so everything is natural – and it really shows in the results.

You are simply using what your body already provides. You can watch the whole process as it occurs in terms of the separation – it’s really quite fascinating.

I did wonder how long this was all going to take, it’s somewhere between 30-45 minutes including injections and it’ll set you back about £800.

LED light treatment at Harley Street Injectables
Belle’s Charlotte is under there… somewhere

This treatment stimulates collagen production, and we all know that collagen helps in rejuvenating your skin and making you look younger so I’ll take it!

I also learnt that you can actually have this treatment on any part of your body, not just your face.

After my first round of rejuvenation, we moved on to LED Light Treatment which involves using a mask featuring three wavelengths that provide a multitude of benefits in terms of youthful skin health. Three different coloured LED lights are used – Red for Anti-Ageing, Blue for Anti-Bacterial and Purple for Anti-Inflammatory, which all contribute to stimulating facial cells and rejuvenating the skin. 100% safe, with no side effects and no recovery time needed.

Give it all a try – I am living proof that it does do what it says on the ‘tin’.
