The Hydrafacial Gift That Keeps On Giving

As temperatures plummet and central heating blasts up, skin suffers every January, and this year is no different. Evidence of the excesses of party season is inescapable, and skin often looks tired, dull, and dehydrated in January.

So what if I told you there’s a cure for that? And it doesn’t mean a month of forgoing cheese or wine. True, Veganuary, Dry January, and all those other virtuous ‘anuaries’ have their place, but what we often want is a super-boost to plump up and revive our skin, as well as acknowledging those lifestyle changes that we know will really help us in the long run.

Enter the HydraFacial at Mallucci Mayfair, a super-treatment that promises to send even the most lacklustre complexion out the door glowing in a little over an hour. Hydrate winter skin or prep for a new season party, the HydraFacial is one of Hollywood’s best-loved treatments, and now we know why.

Hollywood Hydrating Treatment

Loved by the A-list for an almost-instant red carpet glow with high-powered cleansing and exfoliation, some results are evident immediately, but the intense hydrating treatment continues to work for up to a week, making it an ideal treatment to revive January skin, or book in ahead of a holiday or special event. Designed to target all skin types it features Vortex-Fusion® technology to transform the complexion.

The HydraFacial technology works to suck out any impurities, then plumps pores with a personalised cocktail of skin-loving ingredients. The beauty is that the treatment is entirely bespoke for the client, so whether you’re looking to blitz blackheads or soothe dry, sensitive skin, you’ll get the results your skin most needs.

Having enjoyed a herbal tea while relaxing in the waiting area, exploring what other treatments Mallucci offers, I was taken to the private treatment room by Kerry, who not only put me at ease but also explained every individual step and action. This helped to really understand just how deep the treatment was going, as well as educate me on how to maximise the results in the weeks after. Nothing is painful, even the blackhead blitzing (!), although the LED treatment that wrapped up my session was a little claustrophobic to start with – bright lights (despite being blindfolded!) and minimal movement take a bit of getting used to.

Six steps involved in a HydraFacial:

Step 1. Lymphatic drainage to increase blood circulation.
Step 2. Deep cleansing and exfoliation to remove dead layers of skin.
Step 3. A chemical Peel to give the skin a glow.
Step 4. Extractions to eliminate blackheads and impurities.
Step 5. Hydration, by bathing skin with a bespoke blend of antioxidants.
Step 6. LED light to stimulate collagen and kill bacteria.

Once your session is over, your hydrated skin will look brighter instantly, and makeup can be applied much more easily. However, the best effects from the facial are definitely seen up to a week later, when luminosity is at its highest level. I couldn’t believe the effect of one treatment, and if you stick to a hydrating regime, as well as regular exfoliating, you can expect the effects to continue for weeks to come.
