Tweakment Season: Why Subtle Refreshes Are On The Rise

As the days grow lighter and social diaries start filling up again, many of us feel the urge for a reset. We declutter our homes, switch up our wardrobes and book holidays. Increasingly, we are also refreshing our faces.

According to Dr Rupert Critchley, founder of VIVA Skin Clinics, spring has quietly become peak tweakment season.

“Spring is when patients start planning ahead,” he says. “They are not looking for dramatic changes. They want to look fresher, brighter and more rested as we move into wedding season, race days and summer holidays.”

Why Spring Triggers The Tweakment Boom

Winter is forgiving. Spring daylight is not. Natural light highlights:

• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Tired eyes
• Pigmentation
• Facial volume loss
• Jawline softness
• Dull, dry skin

“Brighter light reveals texture and shadow much more clearly,” explains Dr Critchley. “Small concerns that felt manageable in winter suddenly feel more noticeable.”

There is also a psychological shift. Spring represents renewal. After months of grey skies and heavy layers, people naturally want to feel lighter and more confident.

The Most Requested Spring Treatments

Rather than dramatic makeovers, spring is about refinement. Dr Critchley says the most popular requests at this time of year include:

Anti-wrinkle treatments for forehead lines and crow’s feet
• Tear trough filler to improve tired looking eyes
• Chin and jawline filler for definition
• Temple filler to restore subtle volume loss
• Lip fillers for balance and hydration
• Non-surgical rhinoplasty for profile refinement

Skin treatments also see a noticeable rise in demand, including:

• Chemical peels for pigmentation
HydraFacial for glow
• Profhilo and HArmonyCa for hydration and collagen support
• SkinPen microneedling for texture
• Sculptra for gradual collagen stimulation

“It is rarely about adding more,” says Dr Critchley. “It is about restoring balance and softening areas that make someone look more tired than they feel.”

The Pre Holiday Refresh

Many patients book treatments in early spring to allow time for results to settle before summer. Collagen stimulating treatments develop gradually over several weeks, while injectables need time to soften and integrate naturally.

“Starting early means you look effortlessly refreshed by the time holiday photos start,” Dr Critchley explains.

Men Are Booking Too

Spring tweakments are not just for women. Dr Critchley notes increasing numbers of male patients seeking:

• Jawline filler
• Chin enhancement
• Tear trough correction
• Anti-wrinkle treatments
• Full face dermal filler for structural support

“The focus for men is usually structure and definition rather than volume,” he says.

The Golden Rule: Keep It Subtle

The biggest shift in aesthetic medicine is towards natural results. “The aim is never to look done,” says Dr Critchley. “If people say you look well, rested or glowing but cannot quite pinpoint why, that is the ideal outcome.”

As we step into brighter days and fuller diaries, tweakments are less about transformation and more about confidence.

A small, well-timed refresh can make all the difference.
