Great Hair This Winter: Autumn/Winter Colour Trends
Summer’s on the way out and the warm weather, holidays in the sun, chlorine and hanging out by the beach can fade your hair and leave you with split ends that make your hair look a little frazzled. Siobhan Jones, Colour Ambassador at Headmasters shares her top Autumn trends to have your hair looking glossy, healthy and on-trend.
Bronde is the low maintenance colour that’s taking the celeb world by storm.
“Most suited to brunettes and blondes, allowing subtle hints of colour to frame the face and enhance features. Another bonus is that it’s really low maintenance, so no contrasting dark roots coming through over the winter months! The key to achieving this colour, if you are dark blonde or light brown, is to have a lot of your base natural colour showing through (if darker ask your stylist for a light brown base.) Then ask for gradually toned highlights which are blonder at the front and darker at the back, golden blonde works really well at the back with lighter blonde pieces around the face and ends.”

Nordic blonde is having its moment.
“There is something visually arresting about this most unapologetic of all shades. More than simply a box platinum bleach, it has a depth of tone which adds a sophisticated, high end, expensive quality to the shade. This illusive tonal depth is something that is only available in the salon chair. The experience and knowledge of an educated colourist turns the harsh edge of this colour into something more ethereal, refined and other worldly. If you have naturally dark to light blonde hair with light eyes this hue will suit you best, our expert colourist will apply a global colour using the latest generation lightening products from L’Oréal Professionnel. Using a double process to achieve this beautifully pale blonde; first hair is lightened and then toned for a bespoke finish.”

Runway Bob it’s a hair colour designed to suit and enhance your Bob.
“The Bob is most definitely the cut of the year and has become indicative of women in their prime, high achievers showcasing a confident, bolder side to their personalities. Adding some subtle colour enhances shape and adds definition to your cut. Fundamentally The Runway Bob is personalised to you, a Headmasters expert colourist will place colour two shades lighter and darker than your natural to enhance the texture and movement throughout your hair this will contour and frame your face similar to using a bronzer and highlighter. Ideal for those who like to wear their BOB, POB or LOBS tousled, wavy and textured, the placement of The Runway Bob helps to plump and draw attention to the wave rather than divide and break it up as highlights would. The Runway Bob concentrates on enhancing volume at the ends rather than on the roots which can make the hair look round.
“Our expert colourists will use a new technique Prisme, which focuses on taking triangular panels (rather than highlights) and place either the lighter or darker hues around the face and ends of the hair to create shadows (which will enhance cheekbones and the jaw-line). These triangular sections are still subtle but help to draw attention to the movement of the cut.”
