Bag Twilight Bella’s Wedding Dress

The world of film and retail has always been close but now it’s a case of truly being able to buy what you see on screen. While Bella’s wedding dress in the Twilight series is a closely guarded secret at the moment, come November 18 when Breaking Dawn, Part One is released, brides-to-be will be able to buy an exact replica of the Edwardian inspired gown. Alfred Angelo, who is know for his affordable wedding gowns, will be exclusively selling the official replica of the Carolina Herrera dress in his Signature stores in the U.S and independent retailers worldwide.

But Bella’s wedding gown is not the first we have lusted after on celluloid. Top designers have been called in before to design some beautiful dresses for the big screen.

Here are our top five picks of wedding gowns we wish we could buy off the rack.

1. Bride Wars – Emma

Emma, played by Anne Hathaway wore this gorgeous Vera Wang bridal gown that looks like it could be a family heirloom. It’s simple lines and mermaid tail skirt highlight Anne’s perfect figure and the asymmetrical neckline gives it an individual edge.

2. Mamma Mia – Sophie

This Grecian gown was created by Academy Award-winning costume designer Ann Roth especially for the film to represent Amanda Seyfried’s character Sophie’s personality and where she was brought up. It wasn’t just the music and dance that had us wanting to run off to a Greek Island to get married but also this lovely romantic dress that begged for au natural hair and bare feet.

3. Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past – Jenny

This strapless dress from Manuel Mota for Pronovias worn by Jennifer Garner is a modern classic. The lace and crystal detailing and figure skimming shape make it a lovely silhouette for the contemporary bride.

4. Sex And The City – Carrie

While Carrie tried on wedding dresses from the likes of  Carolina Herrera, Christian Lacroix and Oscar de la Renta for her magazine photoshoot in the first Sex And The City movie, it was one by our very own Vivienne Westwood that she deemed to be ‘so special it could bring a wedding tear from the most unbelieving of women’.

5. Bride Wars – Liv

Kate Hudson’s gorgeous dress is another Vera Wang creation from her 2005 collection that costume designer Karen Patch adapted specifically for the character Liv. A dress for a princess bride.

  1. I’m particularly partial to Duckface’s wedding dress in Wedding #4 of ‘Four Weddings & A Funeral’. I also REALLY loved her floral headdress and the way she did her hair. I know that look would look dated now, but I still think she looks great.
