Have A Five Star Girl’s Night In

While a girl’s night out is fun, a girl’s night in is so right now.  And let’s be honest, while a night of kicking back the slippers and sinking into the sofa can be right on the cards, sometimes a girl’s night in under a five star roof can be even better.

Your new S/S season dress might not be completely wasted on the Trafalgar hotel’s Girl’s Night in package. Because, before you rush to jump into your fave slumber party PJs, you might want to take in the surroundings of the very sophisticated yet relaxed Rockwell Bar which greets you on arrival.

It would be rude not to sample one of their finest wines, cocktails or champagnes which fill the flagship bar’s extensive menus. But if your girl’s night in ethos is strictly alcohol-free, one of their inventive ‘health-boosting’ cocktails might do the trick.

Then again, want to add a little sparkle to your stay? The perfectly chilled mini bottle of Pommery Champagne which arrives right on cue as you arrive at your  room door will kick-start this five star treat perfectly.

Pass the chic reception filled with majestic orchid flower displays and giant vases to a hotel room which is sharp, stylish and fuss-free. Dark wooden furniture is off set by starched white linen sheets and giant pillows with deep purple throws and cushions. A chic Nespresso machine gives you a range of coffees on tap and a fully-stocked mini bar sits below a huge wide-screen TV.

A plush tiled bathroom complete with huge bath tub and rainforest shower provides the must-have white fluffy robes and slippers as well as an abundance of luxurious Temple Spa beauty products. If you’re not fighting with your girlfriends for first dibs of the ‘La La Lagoon’ aromatic bath and shower gel, you mustn’t leave this Girl’s Night Out without trying its Temple Spa ‘Take Time to Smell the Roses’ bath salts. Bursting with rose petal fragrance, you can enjoy a soak oozing with as much fragrance as a Provence rose garden in full bloom, or a Moroccan rose market. Or if you want to share with the girls, why not treat yourselves to a rose-infused manicure or pedicure soak before painting each other’s nails.

Other goodies in the package include an essential oil toning mist and Mediterrannean ‘sugar buff’ body scrub from the luxury Temple Spa hamper which is placed in your room.

The other key slumber night essentials are popcorn brought to your door and a choice of mouth-watering desserts menu from room service. Digging into a squidgy chocolate pud while watching Bridesmaids – well that’s a way to spend a Saturday night.

The quirkiness to the Hilton’s service doesn’t stop there – with magnetic versions of ‘Do not Disturb’ – the only complaint? There should be a sign which reads No Boys Allowed.

Attention to detail is taken on proudly by Trafalgar staff who politely offer their turndown service to Girl’s Night in customers. Too busy gossiping? Fair enough. But while they lay out your slippers and place a cute little bottle of ‘Drift Away’ aromatherapy oil on your pillow, you feel utterly spoiled.

A luxury haven in the middle of bustling Trafalgar Square or a plush way to start a girl’s night on the town?

As the movie comes to an end I take out my Temple Spa ‘Chillax’ bag and place a soft velvet eye mask over my eyes. Girl’s Night out? Pah. This is a girl’s night in worth the five star tag.

The Girl’s Night In Package is one of three luxury tailor-made packages aimed at girls who want to have fun. Prices start from £282 per room. The Trafalgar, 2 Spring Gardens, Trafalgar Square, London SW1A 2TS (020) 7870 2900 www.hilton.co.uk/trafalgar
