Dinner To Dine For

Is it really true that staying in is the new going out? Well with London Fashion Week over and our coffers feeling noticeably lighter, it may just be so. We do sometimes wonder whether the palaver of getting all dressed up and spending a fortune on late-night taxis is worth it, when we could be hosting our own successful soirees for friends at a snip of the price. And it seems we’re not alone…

2017 is witnessing a continuing change in entertainment habits as the hub of our social life becomes much more home-based, with savvy men and women wising up to the cost of going out. Whether it’s harking back to days gone by, a change in work/life balance, simply due to finances or just spending some quality time at home, making the effort to cook and enjoying a night in is becoming the on-trend way to go.

In order to embrace the at-home revolution we have swotted up on our culinary prowess, invested in some great lamps, and worked out which f our friends most deserves to be hosted chez nous. But everybody needs a helping hand, so we were pleased to hear that Dinner To Dine For is back for a 4th year to inspire those Big Nights In!

Dinner To Dine for is a campaign designed to boost enthusiasm for entertaining friends at home. The DTDF RoadShow kicked off on Thursday (23rd February) and will run for four weeks, visiting more than 40 Tesco Extra stores plus London Victoria and Waterloo mainline stations. The on-the-road team will be meeting people all over the country who are looking to treat themselves without having to go out or spend a fortune. They will be on hand to offer advice on planning and products so that your Big Night In goes with a bang. You can follow the fun of the RoadShow and get inspired on Twitter at @dinner2dinefor, by searching for the #DinnerToDineFor hashtag, or logging on to www.dinnertodinefor.co.uk.
