What Does Winter Wonderland Have In Store for 2022?

Entrance to Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park

The UK’s most iconic festive event, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, is returning this year for its 15th anniversary.  From 18th November, this magical day out promises a host of new attractions on top of familiar favourites.

What’s On?

Open from 10am to 10pm daily, this year’s show-stopping line-up includes the UK’s largest outdoor Ice Rink, an exciting new Magical Ice Kingdom, Santaland, Zippos Christmas Circus, and a Giant Wheel. And the Real Ice Slide is even bigger this year with an extra lane added!

Surrounding the picturesque Victorian bandstand in London’s beautiful Hyde Park, the UK’s largest Ice Rink – presented by Lidl – is a stunning, quintessentially festive scene, with families gliding across the ice in the tranquil, leafy setting as the bandstand singer provides a gentle musical backdrop. Penguin skating aids are available to support the little ones (or us big ones who still cannot balance on the ice!) and, for the less experienced, ice guides can be hired too. Come rain, shine (or hopefully snow!), deluxe festive treats will be on offer, with all proceeds going towards the supermarket’s charity partner Neighbourly.

Bavarian Village at Winter Wonderland

Santaland, where all days are merry and bright, is guaranteed to fill the kids, and those young in spirit, with festive joy this season! Here you’ll find Santa’s Grotto, a 45m Ice Slide and a whole host of family-friendly rides.  Even better this year, Santaland is offering a new family value package, offering four Santaland rides for £10.

Say hello to Santa and his elves at Santa’s Grotto, which is free if you have paid for an entry ticket to WW. To send Santa off home to Mrs Claus after a busy day of greets and gifts, Santa’s Parade will see the main man off to the North Pole in style from Mondays to Wednesdays, starting from Santaland at 5pm.

Explore the Ice Kingdom

Immerse yourself in the ultimate Christmas experience with the Magical Ice Kingdom, which is returning with a brand-new look. Go on a journey through an enchanted world, exploring 500 tonnes of sculptured ice and snow including secret passageways, a snow-tunnelled ice slide and the crystal carriage of the Ice Palace.

Winter Wonderland, Hyde park

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland also offers a plethora of game stalls, guaranteed to spark some friendly competition within the family. Do remember to buy game coins in advance to avoid any holdups after queuing for attractions.

Zippos Christmas Circus will return for 2022, offering families a breath-taking and spectacular circus experience in the comfort of the heated Mega Dome. Zippos Christmas Circus really is a feast for the eyes, as a cavalcade of incredible circus stars present a dazzling, action packed 50-minute display of acrobatics, comedy, juggling and dare-devil aerial acts.

Suzy Griffiths, Winter Wonderland Event Director for IMG, told Belle About Town: “This year we want to bring people together to celebrate the amazing memories we have made over the last 15 years and make new magical memories to last a lifetime. That’s what the festive season is all about and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is a fun-filled family tradition that guests love.”

Winter Wonderland is again operating with timed entry tickets. Tickets are available to book now at hydeparkwinterwonderland.com. For families looking for the best value this festive season, free entry tickets during off-peak hours are available.
