We Heart Lanvin for H&M
We love a diffusion range and the latest to hit the High Street is from French fashion house Lanvin for H&M. Hollywood A-listers such as Nicole Kidman, Sophia Coppola and Chloé Sevigny all adore Moroccan-born artistic director of Lanvin Alber Elbaz. His simple yet feminine designs have made him popular with the fashion set too. And he hasn’t downgraded his design ethic for this latest collection. There are dresses of breathtaking cut and joyful colour, as well as pieces full of Parisian glamour and accessories with playful joie de vivre.
“What does luxury mean today? Can luxury be exclusive and democratic at the same time? How can we translate the essence of luxury to a wider audience? ” asks Alber. “The world around us is changing rapidly and I find myself asking these questions more and more. Designer’s work is usually tailored to a very small group of people, but the collection for H&M was about trying to translate the dream of luxury to the masses. It was almost like going back to school for me,” he said.
Our favourite designs include:
The hot pink ruffle dress (£99) which is a great seasonal party dress. Pair with a faux fur long coast and giant pearl necklace and you are ready to hit the town.
The black tulle prom dress (£149) looks great on all ages and can be matched with your preferred highlight colour. For Christmas day add some hot red shoes and a silver belt.
Standout from the crowd in this vibrant yellow asymmetrical dress (£99) teamed with other primary colours such as bright blue stilettos and a red necklace will ensure you stay ahead of the fashion pack.
Dress up your little black dress with this fabulous zebra print coat (£99). With the classical styling of a trench and oversized lapels it is certainly a future classic.
Elbaz has also created a mens range so that your beau doesn’t have to miss out either. Featuring retro cigarette leg trousers with matching tailored jackets, fifties style cardigans and a traditional mac, you will be happy to sip mulled wine and walk in the park with him.
Available in store and online from 7am November 23rd.
