The Show: Redefinition
While the fashion pack descended on London last week for the prestigious London Fashion Week, being outside of London doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the trends, buzz and fashion events. The Bullring Centre in Birmingham is combining technology and fashion to present a fusion of reality and illusion to show you the top trends of AW11 with The Show: Redefinition. This unique catwalk experience will see models, including 2010 Britain’s Next Top Model winner Tiffany Pisani, strutting down the catwalk against holographic backgrounds – and they’re promising a kaleidoscope of colour, a real ice breaker and puppies, hundreds of them!
Part of Style Birmingham Live, this fabulous event gives you the chance see key trends that started on the designer catwalks but have made their way to the high street. Dark Romance takes its influence from Giles Deacon and Stella McCartney’s ranges. Dark hues, lace and leather combine prim Victorian fashion with a modern fetish edge. The glamorous look of Hollywood in the 40s hasn’t gone away. Dior’s classic nipped waists suit all shapes of women and these silhouettes have now taken an autumnal turn. The Sixties are back in fashion too so take a trip back in time to the heady days of the Mary Quant’s Kings Road Mods and patterns are still big with everything from polka dots to florals making their way down the catwalk.
If you are tired of floaty feminine fashion, why not try the structured masculine look with tailored trousers and pinstripe jackets. And look out for the finale of the show, as it is rumoured to be a flurry of feathers and fur with a very special guest star taking to the catwalk. With Bullring high street retailers Reiss, Forever 21, COS, Office, Kurt Geiger and Debenhams all showing how to achieve these integral looks, you can feel confident that your winter wardrobe will be fashionable without breaking the bank.
