Review: Fulham’s Brown Cow

What better way to spend a Sunday than enjoying a few hours in a cosy pub with a glass of wine and a good Sunday lunch?

Having made our way down to Fulham we happened upon The Brown Cow – an inviting gastropub occupying a corner on the busy Fulham Road.

Rustic décor adorns the venue, from chunky wooden tables and red Chesterfield sofas to large stained mirrors, candles, and plenty of flowers.

Grilled king prawns with mango salad – too good to share

It was a typical Sunday lunchtime – the ambience was lively with a steady stream of guests arriving, filling up the dining space quickly. Sunday Roasts appeared one after the other, emerging from the kitchen in a cloudy haze of steam.

We started with Espellette & Sriracha Grilled King Prawns with Mango Salad. Our advice – ensure your dining partner keeps their eyes, and fork, away – this is a dish too good to share! Perfectly grilled prawns lie on top of a bed of mango salad giving a combination of just enough sweet and sour to realy enrich the charcoal flavour of the prawns.

The Brown Cow roast – well worth travelling for!

The Roast Beef Rump & Horseradish proved a generous serving of beef, Yorkshire pudding and all the usual trimmings. It was as expected – tasty and filling, a proper comfort meal.

But stray away from the regular roast and you’ll find a whole grilled Sea Bream from the Specials Board. Served with a portion of superfood salad this is just as enjoyable.

The service came with a big smile and our waiter was friendly and attentive, his bright and bubbly personality complimenting the vibrant venue perfectly. The whole team were very professional and personable, making sure all customers felt valued and looked after, making The Brown Cow a great go-to for good food and service for anyone finding themselves on the Fulham Road.
