McQueen of the catwalk

C,c,c,crazy fashionista & blogger supreme, Kristin Knox (aka The Clothes Whisperer) delivers the first in what can only be a very long line of books, paying tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen.

This divine (dare I say it … ‘coffee table’) book, entitled Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation, is a 128 page volume that chronicles the life and work of Lee Alexander McQueen. Illustrated with 125 iconic images, Knox describes the book as ‘a real labour of love’ and likens the experience of researching and deconstructing McQueen’s life  as being  ‘a lot like picking apart a bit of Paradise Lost or a Shakespearean sonnet.’

Considering all that hard work you should seriously think about taking a look.  You’ll be rewarded with an insight into McQueen’s creative psyche and taken on a fascinating and thought-provoking journey through his life, from his less than salubrious beginnings in an East End Council flat, through to his final, fabulous but sadly, unfinished Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 collection.

Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation is available to pre-order for £12.99 and is on sale across the UK from 7th May.
