Yoga at Inhabit, Paddington

The yoga teaching market might feel oversaturated, but according to the recent data, the demand for health and wellbeing services has never been higher. The wellness industry is estimated to be worth over $6 trillion worldwide with no signs of slowing down. In fact, it is forecasted to reach $9 trillion in 2028! The yoga market alone was valued at $115 billion in 2024 and it continues to grow, with predictions reaching over $270 billion in 2034.
A truly astonishing, head-spinning number and for me as a yoga teacher, this is very encouraging.
I recently visited the Inhabit hotel in London’s Paddington, where I was invited to a yoga class led by Rosie Underwood. Rosie, a renowned yoga teacher and wellness expert, has recently formed a partnership with the Inhabit Hotels group, where she leads weekly yoga classes for hotel guests and non-residents.
I arrived at the Inhabit Queen’s Gardens hotel on a busy weeknight, and I was welcomed by a very friendly member of staff, who escorted me into the wellness centre.
The yoga studio was cosy, dimly lit and the temperature was just right. The space fits six yoga mats, which made for a very intimate and friendly class. There was lots of chatting and laughter when I arrived, and I felt comfortable from the get-go.
Rosie’s session had a nice steady pace, with clear guidance and relaxed atmosphere. Even though it was just a 45-minute class, I felt rejuvenated afterwards.
Being a yoga practitioner for many years, I have followed many teachers and have practiced many styles of yoga over time. What I have learned is that ten teachers can teach the same style of yoga, but they all have their own unique way and put their own special stamp and personality on their classes. No teacher and no class are the same. And as yoga students, we won’t always resonate with all of them, and it is ok to have a ‘favourite’.
I would most definitely attend Rosie’s class again…her teaching skills and knowledge, as well as her positive attitude, were a big draw for me, and I am sure all the other guests, past and present, feel the same.
As well as leading the weekly classes and exclusive wellness events at the hotel, Rosie is also Inhabit Hotels’ wellness ambassador, whose mission is to promote physical and mental wellbeing for everyone.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Rosie Underwood, whose experience and authentic approach perfectly complement our mission at Inhabit Hotels,” said Samantha van Exter, Head of Hotels at The Montcalm Collection. “At Inhabit, we believe in creating spaces that support our guests’ well-being, and we are confident that her guidance will deeply enrich the Inhabit wellness programme.”
The classes take place on Wednesdays at 6pm and can be booked online through the hotel’s website. For more information and bookings, visit www.inhabithotels.com.
