The Jones Family Project – An Alternative To The Detox Season

Jones Family Project

It’s been a long hard month of January detoxes, but we’ve almost reached the finish line. So if, (like us) you are bored of people talking about a booze-free/meat-free/virtuous January, then we have just the ticket for you!

Shoreditch based restaurant and bar, The Jones Family Project, have been holding an anti-dry January all month by celebrating the New Year with a boozy, meaty and carby line up of gluttonous culinary activity.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Jones project, visitors are promised an experience of delicious food, world class cocktails, fine wine and excellent company in a relaxed ambient environment. So we went along to try it out.

Set up by a group of friends, this independent restaurant and bar aims to create a relaxed and informal dining environment for lazy lunchers, groups of girlfriends and couples alike. A New York style long bar for dining and drinking is a highlight, as are their pop up spaces which can be creatively used for events throughout the year.

This month, The Jones Family Project has been offering a delicious Burgers & Bordeaux promotion giving customers the chance to grab two burgers and a bottle of Bordeaux for just £40. We enjoyed a Chuck Burger topped with slow cooked oxtail in a glazed demi-brioche bun with oxtail stock mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce and big chips, accompanied with a Bordeaux from the extensive wine list.

Alongside this mouth watering offering, the venue is also serving up their renowned Ginger Pig Sunday Roasts for a fraction of the price, up until 31st January. For just £9.95. Using Ginger Pig’s unrivalled meats, you can choose from a selection of Roast Beef or the Roast Chicken served with all the trimmings and lashings of gravy.

Moving into February, and The Jones Project will be open on Valentine’s Day by special request. Expect their usual a la carte menu alongside a special valentines sharing menu, email reservations@jonesfamilyproject.co.uk for availability and further details.

For those eating consciously, you’ll be glad to hear the meat and fish is all responsibly sourced, and all drinks offering are also from local producers. The wine list is extensive and good value, and over 25 of the wines are available by the glass or carafe.

The Jones family project also has some great fine dining and private rooms. There are no hire fees, just minimum spends. Expect gorgeous settings with intimate booths and chesterfield style sofas throughout.

For a low key Sunday roast with friends, or an all out anti – January Meat fest, The Jones Family Project is a perfect way to meet with friends and chew the fat, quite literally.
