If you’re one for a bit of British nostalgia, then the Reform Social & Grill is right up your street. Situated in the very heart of Marylebone, the restaurant and bar is part of the stunning The Mandeville Hotel. The bar and restaurant is already known for it’s quintessentially British dishes and extravagant cocktails, so the brand new addition of Prescription Cocktails is the perfect accompaniment to their quirky English menu.
Choose from common ailments including January’s Sore Throat Reliever, February’s Sad and Lonely Alleviator, and March’s Hay Fever Reducer. Or simply tell the barman how you are feeling, and they will prescribe the perfect potion to ease your ailments. Off menu is no trouble at all, in fact that’s the best part!
Also if you hold onto your prescription and go back to Reform Social, the barman will offer you a discount, and recreate your brew if your symptoms persist, working their way through their mixology cabinet to create a more potent solution, just don’t blame us when you leave feeling light headed!
The bar itself feels a bit like a fun and quirky take on an old boys club, with large leather reclining sofas and premium whiskeys lined at the bar. You could imagine the very classic bartender fixing you a drink and floating it across the bar to you at the other end, as if you were starring in your very own black and white movie. It’s old fashioned English elegance at it’s best, and we loved it.
Another plus about the Reform Social and Grill is that it is somewhat of a hidden gem, although this is likely to change now word is out! If you pick your time you can make the most of serving staff almost all to your self, making it the perfect place for an intimate private dinner. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, be it an addition or amendment to the offerings on the menu. The personal service is the icing on the cake, as the food and drinks are first class.
Top tip: the cocktails are best enjoyed with some of the bars very British bar snacks (the sage and onion pork scratchings are delish!) Available now, the Reform Social and Grill is a great place to have a few fabulous cocktails with the girls. Highly recommended!
