Parliamentary Waffle House
Like many people I am still trying to work out who to vote for this Thursday in the general election. I have already visited the website Vote For Policie to try and separate policies from personalities and see who I would be better off under. But there is a much more fun way to choose who you would like to vote for and see just who others are voting too.
From jelly geniuses Bompas & Parr comes The Parliamentary Waffle House, a pop out eatery in Broadwick St just off Carnaby St in London’s West End. Each item on the menu is available in three variations, which correspond with each of the major parties. Orders feed directly into a live rubbish swing ‘o’ meter that gauges the mood of the country as people vote with their mouths.
Following the final TV debate on Friday the Lib Dem’s were still ahead on the rubbish swing-o-meter with the Labour party a close second but only time will tell at whether this is the feeling of the whole country!
The restaurant and bar is open every day from 12pm until 11pm. Tomorrow night they will be hosting a Thick of It Night and then on the 4th of May is Political Wordplay a night that celebrates the art of political wordplay with word games, improvisation and satirical food and finally on the 6th of May they are holding an Election Night Extravaganza with food, politics and partying all for just £20. For tickets visit their jellymongers site – it certainly makes talking politics a whole lot more interesting.
