Love Is In The Air at The View from the Shard

There are many cities that claim the crown of most romantic location in the world; there is no denying that we can find magic and romance anywhere but for me London long ago stole my heart.

Any time I fly back to London, especially at night, I make sure my seat is a window seat. I even do my research to make sure I sit on the “right” side of the plane so I can enjoy the stunning views our city has to offer.

There is something very magical about seeing London from a great height, all lit up and piercing, and somewhat more beautiful, with a hint of mystique and enchantment. No matter how many times I see it, I get excited about spotting landmarks and then even more excited when the plane circles a few times and I can enjoy the views again and again.

So imagine my excitement when my partner and I headed up to the The View From The Shard for a Champagne Experience on Valentine’s Day.

The View From The Shard sits 800ft above London’s streets – the equivalent of 57 London’s double decker buses stacked on top of each other. That’s pretty high.

A high-speed lift travels a whopping 6 metres per second to transport guests to the venue. We disembarked on floor 68 and from there walked up to level 69, which offers a breath-taking 360-degree view of the Capital. What’s more, it is also the home to London’s highest permanent Champagne Bar.

With a glass of Moët in hand we started exploring.

Guests came and went and we got lost in conversation, relaxing against such a magical backdrop.

We visited the open air Skydeck on level 72 for a photo opportunity under the stunning flower arch. Beautiful – but not for the faint-hearted.

The View From The Shard is a very special experience and well worth a visit.  The cocktails are delicious too!

Tickets for the Champagne Experience include a glass of Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne and are priced at £86 for two so now anyone can enjoy a touch of romance any day, not just Valentine’s Day.
