Events over the Easter Weekend

Easter at Rudie’s, in Stoke Newington Road, N16, will be celebrated in true Jamaican fashion – great music, great food and soul inspired swills. The Black River, a special chocolate dessert-cocktail is on offer for £8.50, combines chilli infused dark rum, white chocolate cream, cacao bittersand Jamaican Black River chocolate shavings.

Curried Shrimps will be served over delicious Steamed Dumplings, crab is there for the taking too; arriving with spicy Lime Aioli with fresh pickled cucumbers and mango salad. Save room for the Black River chocolate and Scotch Bonnet mousse, the final zing to your Easter Feast

EAST-er Egg Hunt at Victory Mansion

Celebrating Easter in a very traditional fashion, Victory Mansion located on Stoke Newington Road will be hosting an EAST-er Egg Hunt. However, this particular egg hunt is for over 18’s only… revellers are encouraged to bunny-hop from bar to bar down the street collecting eggs that can be EGGS-changed at other bars throughout the night.

Other bars taking part include Original Sin, Fontains, Ruby’s, High Water & Pond. There will even be a rickshaw on hand to ferry punters from bar to bar, available all day for egg-cited bar hoppers hunting for the Easter bunny and his friends. You see, each bar will have an Easter themed item and selfies are very much encouraged. If you manage to post 6 selfies you win a special prize!

Black Penny hosts a Brunchathon

The Black Penny in Covent Garden will be hosting a eggcentric brunchathon this Easter, serving up a series of egg based brunch dishes all day throughout Easter weekend. Commencing on Good Friday, the coffee house and kitchen  will offer an all-day brunch menu. Eggcentrics can choose from Crispy Confit Duck (pictured), served with sweet potato hash and poached egg or the eggxotic Özdemir Pasha, an Ottoman-inspired breakfast of fried eggs, grilled halloumi, butter bean hummus and sumac. Other dishes include British-influenced classics, Bubble ‘N’ Squeak served with sausage and homemade barbeque sauce, The Hunter, a variation on a full-English complete with eggs your way and bacon, or Black Penny Baked Beans served with goats cheese atop a poached egg.

Squiffy Picnic Fete at Cahoots

Back to School Easter Bash at Maggie’s
1980s-inspired club Maggie’s is celebrating Easter with a hoppin’ Back to School Night on Sunday, 27th March. Celebrate the long weekend with groovy cocktails whilst dancing the night away to the best hits from the ‘80s including Cyndi Lauper, U2, Prince, Duran Duran and Bananarama. The entire Maggie’s staff will be decked out in school uniforms and guests are encouraged to follow suit!
