Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchanment at Wembley Arena - Belle About Town

Unsure of how to occupy the brats while they’re off for two long weeks over Easter? Can’t afford a trip to Florida? Me neither. Which is why I’ve decided to embrace my inner child and take my two Disney-mad small people to see Disney on Ice.

While Dancing on Ice leaves me cold, and the idea of turning the front room into a cinema for yet another viewing of Dumbo just makes me want to flap my ears and fly away, the idea of seeing several different Disney stories performed by skating professionals seems kinda cool.

Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment for Belle About Town
Frozen is one of four Disney favourites being performed on ice as part of the production

So we’re revving up for non-stop fun with four of our favourite Disney stories when Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment comes to Wembley Arena next week, from the 4th to the 8th April. The show will see Cars, Toy Story 3, Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Frozen all performed on ice at the London venue. The production is touring the whole country from now until May.

by a team of industry experts and veteran Disney producers and choreographers. Director Jay Smith has directed dozens of Walt Disney World shows, parades and events, including the opening of Disneyland Hong Kong. His roster of impressive assignments include the Super Bowl, Radio City Music Hall and the Grand Ole Opry, 137th Edition of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, Playhouse Disney Live! and Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show. Choreographer Sarah Kawahara is a two-time Emmy® Award-winning choreographer and Disney On Ice veteran who has worked with skating legends and also directed the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics. And costume designer Cynthia Nordstrom has been involved with more than fourteen shows for Walt Disney World including Tarzan Rocks! and multiple Feld Entertainment productions including Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After, Marvel Universe LIVE! and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®.

So having prepped the small people with promises of Arial and Lightning Mc Queen, we are all ready to enter a dazzling world of Disney magic, the aforementioned Mr McQueen, Mater and the crew of Cars perform high-speed stunts and race across the ice.  The daughter is desperate to get up close (well kind of) to Ariel as she dives into the underwater kingdom of The Little Mermaid, and we’re all geared up to see Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie from the Toy Story gang as they try and escape from Sunnyside Daycare – the storyline from the Toy Story 3 film. There’s also a full-on reproduction of wintry wonder Frozen. We can’t wait!
