Cirque Du Soleil’s OVO Returns to the Albert Hall
Every Londoner’s favourite January show, Cirque du Soleil, has already announced an extension of its upcoming run at the Royal Albert Hall, confirming a further 38 performances of the restaged production of OVO. The show opens on January 9th and will now run until March 1st.
OVO: The Production

Created in 2009, OVO (meaning “egg” in Portuguese) returns to the Royal Albert Hall with a fully reimagined approach, featuring new set design elements, updated acrobatic acts, original characters, added costumes, and reinvented music. The production focuses on a fascinating insect colony, bringing together a company of 53 acrobats and musicians.
The show, which has been seen by more than seven million people in more than 40 countries, features 53 world-class performers from 25 countries, including two world-class Brits (more on that later!). The narrative centres on a mysterious egg and a charming relationship between a fly and a ladybug. The production features a striking visual backdrop, including giant flowers and a towering 19-meter climbing wall.

The performance showcases a wide range of sophisticated circus artistry, including aerial silks, Chinese poles, trampoline wall, contortion, foot juggling, cradle, and slackwire. This high-energy performance, accompanied by a Brazilian-inspired soundtrack, celebrates biodiversity, community, and discovery.
Brits are back
The London run includes two notable British talents among the more than 100 cast and crew members.
Robin Beer, born in Hammersmith, is a British clown within Cirque du Soleil, performing the character ‘The Voyager.’ With a background in music, mask work, and devised theatre, Robin contributes a unique blend of humour and theatrical spirit to the production.

Lydia Harper, originally from Warwick and now based in London, serves as the Artistic Director of OVO. A former circus acrobat and actress with a strong foundation in physical theatre and movement direction, Lydia has been a key creative force within Cirque du Soleil since 2015.
