Brunch Pop Up with American French Duo, Le Bun

Belle about Town image

Right now in London, Brunch is kind of a big deal. The Riding House Cafe has become famous for its sumptuous steak and eggs, M1lk in Balham is doing a modern Aussie-style brunch which has the masses queuing every weekend, and now The New Street Grill is hosting Luxury French-American street food duo, Le Bun, in a month-long residency at Old Bengal Warehouse and launching an all-day brunch experience entitled, imaginatively, ‘Le Brunch’.

In a delightful crossover of cultures America meets classic France in this delicious partnership. Adding a American twang to French staples, this duo specialise in putting delicate classic french flavours in an all American bun. The result creates a whole new taste sensation and, strangely, it seems to work.

Andy Taylor and Tim Talbot started making their dream a reality when they won the food category of Sky 1 TV show, launching people. Their concept takes the stuffiness out of French dining making a fun social meal with an all American twist. They spent two weeks working with  mentor Gizzi Erskine making their dream a reality.

There is a surprisingly similarity between the two cuisines which works when combined in one mouth-watering breakfast bun. Le Bun believe French cuisine is basis to all great dishes across the world, with a huge and diverse range of flavours which can be mixed up and played with creating a whole new flavour sensation. Le Bun’s menu is a decadent array of delights, such as truffles n’ waffles, Le Bourginion and Breakfast Aux Champions, making it a must for true foodies looking to try something different for their mid morning meal.

Our favourite was the divine Lobster Bisque Mac, which was the most delicious mini lobster roll on a bed of heavenly lobster bisque Mac and cheese, yum! We also loved Le Buns iconic Le Bourguignon Bun (slow-and-low beef short-rib with bourguignon glaze, bacon salt, truffle mayo and champagne slaw).  The vibe in the Old Bengal Bar is somewhat of a classic chilled environment. Expect dimly lit, relaxed eating and drinking areas, perfect for whiling away a lazy Saturday.

Le Brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm until the end of January. It will be served alongside New Street Grill’s classic British brunch menu. Working with Old Bengal Bar, Le Bun will also be creating fun winter warming cocktails, such as Le Toddy, Le Mule and Le Vin Chaud perfect for toasting the weekend.

Oh, and did we mention there is an option unlimited Prosecco option for an extra £15? Yep. We’ll see you there!
