Like all good things, the Brighton Fringe must come to an end. We’ve had lots of fun, with hundreds of shows spread out across the month… catering wonderfully for every age and taste.

We finished our month-long  colourful carousel of entertainment by watching The Ruckus show. Performed by the award-winning Revel Puck Company, The Ruckus is a chaotic story with its female protagonist at the centre of the fun filled tornado.

Nancy, played by Arielle Lauzon is frantic and glamorous at the same time, as she prepares to host a big party… unfortunately, her guests arrive unfashionably early.

While Nancy tries her best to put her chic on, her friends keep the audience entertained with a range of impressive acrobatics – including an aerial act, hand-balancing, and a human-sized balloon.

The audience interaction was entertaining, with Nancy making acquaintances along the way. She didn’t shy away from her love for Celine Dion and even got the audience members to sing some hits!

Given how small the stage was, the performers worked together seamlessly, the show was smooth and incredibly well choreographed which resulted in a quite extraordinary performance.

As with the Nose Dive Assembly performance The Ruckus was, in equal measure, funny and silly and brilliant, with plenty of impressive and gasp-worthy acts. The narrative was a little lost sadly, but it could easily be forgiven – Nancy and her friends made up for it with their playfulness.

Despite the slight hint of fatigue, unsurprising given the intensity of the festival, Nancy and her posse gave it their absolute best and kept the audience entertained to the end.

If you’re quick, you can still catch them until 1st June. But remember to put your best party frock on.
