Anne-Sophie Pic Takes Sushi To New Heights At Sushi Shop
Racing out of the office to grab a quick sandwich at lunchtime can get pretty tedious to say the least – day after day choosing between yet another prawn mayo or cheese and pickle – the struggle is real!
Well, those of us who are constantly in search of an interesting alternative are in luck.
Enter Sushi Shop, an unassuming little place tucked away behind glitzy Marylebone High Street in the heart of London’s West End. The place may not be much to look at, and most customers tend to take their food away, but the selection on offer really is quite extraordinary.
Last month Sushi Shop launched a brand new menu for 2018, in collaboration with innovative chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the only female French chef to boast a very impressive three Michelin stars.
Anne-Sophie comes from a foodie family of three generations of chefs and her creative culinary skills are self-taught.
You might find the usual salmon sashimi and tuna maki on the shelves here but then you’d be missing out on the real surprises that assault not only your taste buds but also smell delicious and look like teeny tiny works of art.
Anne-Sophie has somehow managed to incorporate everything from creamy goat’s cheese to matcha green tea in this imaginative and innovative menu, which might sound all kinds of wrong but totally works, trust me.
Among the stand out favourites were the incredibly fresh tuna coated in honey flavoured with delicate hints of cardamom, berries, celeriac remoulade and green apple; and the super stylish maki with mushrooms, rose geraniums and ginger.
But I have to reserve a special mention for the yellow tail with sage, lemon balm pesto and smoked tea which I could have happily munched on all day, and possibly well into the night too.
Having previously formed partnerships with uber glam celebs including Kate Moss and Lenny Kravitz, this new collaboration can’t fail to be a huge hit either.
And The Sushi Shop 2018 Edition menu will also be launched in Anne-Sophie’s tres chic restaurant in Paris, La Dame de Pics, which is an excellent excuse to book that Eurostar mini break if ever I heard one.

As mum to a pair of cheeky twin boys, Felix and Harry, Nadia is mostly very tired. And sometimes she’s grumpy and very tired, but that doesn’t stop her attempting to have a life beyond sterilising and pureeing, even if that means she has been spotted strolling through the Grazia office with a Cheerio stuck to her bottom, or accessorising her fabulous Vivienne Westwood vintage with a smear of dried porridge. She loves lounging about in the sunshine with a cocktail (those were the days) and hates smug yummy mummy types offering their unwanted opinions on her sons’ snacks, schooling and snot.
