An Exclusive View Of London

You’ve been on the London Eye, had dinner at Paramount in Centre Point, watched fireworks explode over London for Bonfire Night in the bar at Hilton Metropole and caught up with friends for champagne at Vertigo 42. In other words you like your views and you like them from a-high!

Well now, for a short time, there is another place that you can take in the spectacular views across London. Altitude 360° is in the Millbank Tower on the banks on the Thames between the Houses of Parliament and Tate Britain and the reason it hasn’t been on the sightseer’s list of places to go before is that it hasn’t been open to the public.

Reserved as a place for exclusive and private parties, Altitude is offering a rare opportunity to see breathtaking views of the capital.

“We wanted to give Londoners and tourists alike the opportunity to see London from a completely different perspective,” explained Altitude’s marketing manager Peter Kerwood. “We are very busy hosting events all other times of the year otherwise we would do this more often.”

And Peter it turns out is very passionate and knowledgeable about what can be seen from the 29th floor. He points out Kylie Minogue’s penthouse suite, Victorian tunnels from the Thames that go under buildings to avoid the river tax, and former prison barracks that are now government offices.

Wandering about with a glass of champagne and a pair of binoculars, I checked out whether the Queen was in residence at Buckingham Palace, spy on tourists taking a ride on the London Eye and try to spot landmarks from my area of London through the towers of Battersea Power Station.

When I finally decide that I have checked out most of London I am surprised to realise that and hour and a half has gone by!

The great thing about coming here is there is no pressure of time limits. After enjoying a tour with a top stand-up comedian who will point out landmarks and regale you with stories of the sites, you can stay as long as you like.

The viewing gallery is open throughout the day and into the night meaning you can see London in full daylight, at sunset and the sparkling lights of the city at night that the 1am closing time will afford.

Why not have An Affair To Remember and arrange to meet you beloved at London’s equivalent to the Empire State Building? But you’ll have to be quick as it is only open for the month of August.

Tickets for Altitude 360º viewing gallery for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in August are priced from £10.00 for adults, £5.00 for children (5 to 12 years) and children under 5 are free. There is also available is a VIP ticket which includes fast-track access, a complimentary Altitude 360º map to the London skyline, a souvenir photograph, a 360 degree guided tour by one of the comedians and a glass of Champagne, all for just £29.00.

All tickets are on sale though See Ticket on www.altitudelondon.com/view and advance booking is advised.
