A Blaize Of Burlesque, Boogying and Brilliant Tunes
It’s the season for frivolity and fun and we’re always looking for great nights out so when we heard there was a night that combined music, fashion, folly and performance art, we were keen to be involved.
Britain’s top burlesque showgirl Immodesty Blaize has teamed up with indie rock band the Noisettes to provide an evening of avante garde entertainment that will put you in the Christmas spirit.
Having performed alongside music artists such as Goldfrapp, Marc Almond,Roxy Music, Barry Adamson, and Nick Cave, Immodesty has now created a full music and performance collaboration with The Noisettes, bringing together the band’s legendary energy with the dramatic, high voltage visual feast of Immodesty’s performances.
With the Noisettes it’s always best to expect the unexpected; and true to form, this collaboration with Blaize crosses the boundaries between music, high fashion couture, and performance art – combining rock and roll, retro styles and fierce glamour in a fast and furious flurry, it sees in the Christmas Season with more than a bang.
The Noisettes, with their full seven-piece band, will be presenting a combination of their classic hits, and giving exclusive previews to many of the new songs due to be released in spring 2012.
‘Live music has always been integral to my performances,’ Immodesty says. ‘It’s such an important part of the magic of the show and the live experience. I love how the Noisettes combine cutting edge new ideas with so many retro references and always in a clever and adventurous way.’
‘The idea of putting on a proper show seems to be missing from a lot of young bands at the moment,’ says Shingai Shoniwa, lead singer of the Noisettes. ‘We always go that extra mile to give the crowd a night they’ll never forget.’
