Sick Of Swiping Right? VEE Dating Launches In London
Singletons have a lot of things to thank the internet for these days. Before the online revolution we were constantly on the go and always had to look our best just in case. These days, however, we can window shop online for just about everything – including a new boyfriend – while on the sofa, dressed in our pyjamas and balancing a glass of wine!
That doesn’t mean that swiping right is for everybody, though. Dating apps are great fun, but sometimes only the personal experience will do. It’s also advisable to observe a potential partner out ‘in the wild’, so to speak. Think of it as a human safari! Perhaps this is what inspired VEE to launch a new series of dating events for single Londoners. They launched their maiden event at Holborn’s Sway Bar last week, and I was lucky enough to be invited along.
Naturally, love – or something like it – was in the air throughout the evening’s festivities. The whole night had a somewhat luxurious ambience, and there were a plethora of attractive members of either sex milling around the venue. Happily, VEE are keeping a very open mind about their clientele. There are no age restrictions assigned to signing up for a membership, ensuring that the potential for finding love is open to everybody.
The bar was very much open for business too, complementing the free champagne that we were handed upon arrival. This ensured that there was no shortage of social lubricant to banish those unhelpful nerves when approaching an eligible singleton.
That’s right – VEE Love events are not akin to a school disco though, with boys standing on one side of the bar and girls on the other. Organisation was very strong, with introductions regularly made by the bubbly hosts that worked the room in an attempt at breaking the ice. In order to ensure that attendees have a night to remember, VEE Love events are also set to be tailored around a particular activity.
Tantric Touching was one such example at the launch party, where a guest tantric coach was offering tips on how to become a better lover. For those interested in a literal hands-on approach, this coach will even sleep with your husband in the spirit of training! That adds a whole new dimension to a teacher showing rather than telling.
There were plenty of other fun activities on offer throughout the night, including wine tasting (dubbed VEE Vino) and salsa dancing (VEE Dance). These are the kind of activities that future events will be built around, making VEE Love events an ideal opportunity for a bashful single girl to meet new people without pressure.
It’s currently free to sign up as a member of VEE Love, and once you’ve done so, it will be £15 per entry to each future event. This will also include a welcome drink, and the opportunity to see the photographs of other attendees! If somebody catches your eye, that’s plenty of time to prepare yourself and track them down on the night.
The VEE Love launch party was a lot of fun, and I recommend future events to any single girl looking for love – or even just to make some new friends. It’s a pressure-free environment, and even if you go home without a new name and number in your phone, entertainment is assured thanks to the activities.
