More sex please! British women are not satisfied between the sheets – with the majority admitting they would like more, and better, sex than they are currently having.

A nationwide study into the intimate lives of British adults has revealed as many as one in five women now believe their libido is higher than that of their partner or husband.

In fact, the data reveals the average woman has sex 2.4 times a week on average – but would like to be having it 5.3 times. And three-quarters said they wish they were having more sex, whilst as many as sixty percent of the women polled wanted ‘better’ sex than they are currently experiencing.

It would seem women of all ages are dissatisfied, with as many as 81 percent of the 16 to 29-year-olds surveyed, 75 percent of 30 – 44 year olds, 66 percent of those aged 45 to 59 and EVEN 53 percent of over 60s claiming they would like more action under the covers than they are currently enjoying.

Of the 3,000 adults surveyed, 42 percent of women said the reason they weren’t satisfied was because modern life gets in the way of having sex, while 32 percent admitted that body hang-ups were a major stumbling block.

The research, conducted by feminine hygiene products Woo Woo, revealed that one in five say their sex drive is higher than their partner, while 18 percent admit that they just don’t like sex with their partner any more.

And in what could be said to be the Wanderlust effect, British women are certainly open to embarking on new sexual adventures, with one in five saying they’d like to use sex toys for the first time, 17 percent saying they would like to try sex in a public place and 15 percent saying they’d be up for a threesome – but would be too embarrassed to suggest it.

Eliza Gervais of Woo Woo told Belle About Town: “We wanted to find out how much fun modern women are actually having between the sheets, and whether they are getting the pleasure and excitement they deserve. It’s great to see women admitting to wanting more sex, women like sex just as much as men and shouldn’t be afraid to admit it or be shamed for doing so. Go after what you want ladies! Have fun – but ensure to take care of yourself.”

Around half (49 percent) say they are confident about their body when having sex, with 35 percent even saying that they ‘don’t care as long as it feels good’ but sadly one in six believe their body is a disappointment to them.

And no matter how confident they are, the majority of women like to keep things just a little mysterious. 60 percent of them prefer sex with low-lighting, while only 27 percent want the light fully on – and 12 percent would choose pitch black.

Ten percent admit to having had more lovers than their partner thinks, while 11 percent admit their partner is not the best lover they’ve ever had. A whopping 72 percent admit that they have faked an orgasm, with 16 percent saying they’d done it to end a sex session which had gone on too long.

The survey also uncovered that on average, British women masturbate 2.5 times a week with Edinburgh the capital of self pleasure at 3.1 times a week, while Belfast only serviced themselves 1.2 times a week.

Cambridge came out on top in the sex survey with people in the University city having sex 3.3 times a week, while Leicester was the least satisfied city with only 1.7 encounters.

And in an ideal world, women would like the average sex session to last 32 minutes.

According to the poll, as many as 18 percent of women of all ages now watch pornography when alone in the house.
