How To Plan A Stress-Free First Date

Dry January can leave you happier and enhance your sex life

We all know first dates are nail-biting occasions, at exactly the time you want your talons, and entire demeanour, to be smooth, shiny and impeccably presented! How many times have you had the first date nerves? What should I wear? Where should we go? What if I like him? What if I don’t?! What should be a fun and exciting time can actually end up making you feel anxious, sweaty and not one bit like the usual you that you’re dying to impress him with!

If you’ve hooked up through a dating agency, or mutual friends, but not actually met the person, all the endless back and forth, trying to figure out what each message means can kill off a potential romance before it even begins. So let’s remind ourselves that dating should actually be fun, exciting and dare we say it…..enjoyable?

Here are some Belle About Town tips for planning a stress-free first date!

Cut to the chase…or cocktails

Endless chatting kills the mystery. Instead of talking for weeks, trying to figure out what each message means and wasting a lot of time, arrange to meet as soon as possible and do the talking in person!

Drop the fairy tale expectations

Going into a first date (or any situation for that matter) with fairy tale expectations is a really great way to get disappointed and very anxious. A first date is just two people meeting up to talk and decide if they want to meet up and talk some more, that’s really all it is. No need to bring the Cinderella dress (yet)

Ditch the “who pays?” drama

A good rule of thumb is “who ever asks, pays”, or just offer to split it. Ditch the old fashioned stereotype that the guy should always pay and get with the times. Avoid all the awkward fumbling around when the bill comes by either going round for round if it’s drinks or making it clear from the start.

If you plan your date through recently launched app Rendeevoo, you can even buy the first round of drinks through your phone beforehand, so they are waiting for you when your date arrives!

Have fun!

Remember what we said about first dates being fun? Well we meant it. Don’t stress yourself out over what is supposed to be an enjoyable evening. Do what you need to do to get in a good mood, have a small glass of wine before you meet, listen to some music or talk to a friend. Then focus on enjoying yourself.

Let yourself be pleasantly surprised…

While it’s good to have a type, try not to be too strict with it or you’ll be cutting off a lot of possibilities.

Dating should be fun and exciting, so don’t be afraid of meeting people who aren’t your usual type. Give yourself the chance of being happily surprised by people who you wouldn’t normally be attracted to.

Rendeevoo is a new dating app that allows you to cut all the drama out of dating. For more information go to www.rendeevoo.com
