Sheridan Smith Swaps Partying For Pampering In Ibiza

Sheridan SmithBafta-winning actress Sheridan Smith recently spent her 32nd birthday at a mind, body and soul retreat on the sunny island of Ibiza in June this year.

Despite the island’s reputation for hardcore partying, Sheridan opted to go teetotal and spent four dry days sticking to juices and bottled water as her tipple of choice, while attending meditation and healing sessions, in between working on her tan.

She celebrated her first day on the island with a Reiki treatment courtesy of Access Ibiza’s resident alternative health therapist Faye Reason, followed by a birthday dinner at Babylon Beach restaurant  in Santa Eulalia, and an evening of dancing at a Nightmares On Wax gig held at local venue Las Dalias.

The following day, Sheridan recharged her batteries by attending a women’s meditation circle held in a Native American-style Tipi at Casa Corazon, run by local healer Valerie Anna Smith.

“I really need that,” Sheridan said of the experience. “It’s the most relaxed I’ve been in ages. Val is amazing – she’s a very special lady.”

The retreat where Sheridan stayed is run by concierge company Access Ibiza, who recently launched their luxury Mind, Body and Soul retreats in Casa de Amore villa located in the island’s picturesque northern countryside.

Run by Ibiza residents and wellbeing experts Rebecca Simpkin and Faye Reason, there are three unique retreat packages on offer – Mind, Body or Soul – which cater to all your health and wellbeing needs.

According to the Access Ibiza Retreats website The Mind Retreat is “a week of mindful activities designed to focus the brain, relax the body and awaken the senses. Following this retreat you will have gained a new positive perspective to your life, a can do attitude and a set of psychological tools to take home with you. Overall this retreat is designed to help you to regain your personal power with the added luxury of delicious food, warm sunshine and relaxing body treatments. It is particularly nourishing if you have suffered from stress or any type of emotional trauma or have horrible habits like excessive worrying. Stress is relative to each person yet always requires ‘time out’ from every day life to be able to process it. The result? Confident, amazing – and strong – YOU again!”

There are three different price packages to choose form as well: Silver, Gold and Platinum, depending on whether you want your flights, transfers and any extra pampering included in your holiday.

Sheridan loved her time there so much, she tweeted: “Having the best time in Ibiza, thank you @accessibizambs for looking after me. Been spoilt rotten. Going home feeling very zen. Love u ladies!”

On her final day, Sheridan checked out beachside bar and celeb haunt Blue Marlin before dashing off to catch her flight to the UK, where she was due back at work filming Channel 4 comedy Dates.

But the Quartet star didn’t think she’d have much of an opportunity to show off her new tan back home: “I’ve gotta go back and put a fat suit on next week,” she said.
