Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a demure fifties housewife or a secretary in the forties? Well you can take a step back in time to the girly fifties when glamour was sophisticated, coy and just a little bit naughty. Get a group of friends together and head to Kettners for a stylish afternoon of cocktails, canapes, cakes and classes.

Have a cracker of a time this Bonfire night!

This Friday is the 405th Anniversary of the gunpowder plot when Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill James I.  What better way to spend your weekend than celebrating the foiling of this dastardly plan?

The Perfect Excuse to Indulge Guilt Free!

It’s not like we have ever needed an excuse to eat chocolate but this week being National Chocolate Week – well it would be rude not to munch on some.

Good Enough To Eat!

I can’t count the number of times I watched Charlie And The Chocolate Factory as a kid and wished that I could go to a place where everything was made of candy with a waterfall of chocolate. As I’ve got older my tastes have matured. Oh I still want that place where I can eat everything but now I want it to be filled with art, architecture and design and tickle my taste buds with sophisticated flavours both sweet and savoury.

Picnics, Pomp and Circumstance at Proms in the Park

As summer comes to a close, sadly so too do the outdoor concerts and festivals. The one I tend to feel draws a conclusion on the season is the final night of The Proms with Proms in The Park. So it is with a twinge of sadness, though much anticipation that I prepare to go to Hyde Park for that final outdoor sing-along of 2010 this Saturday.

Are you ready for music, colour, crowds, food and fun this weekend? Well you’re in luck, it is time for the Notting Hill Carnival. Europe’s largest street festival winds its way through the streets of Notting Hill in west London this bank holiday weekend.

An Exclusive View Of London

You’ve been on the London Eye, had dinner at Paramount in Centre Point, watched fireworks explode over London for Bonfire Night in the bar at Hilton Metropole and caught up with friends for champagne at Vertigo 42. In other words you like your views and you like them from a-high!

Vintage at Goodwood: the fashionable festival

Posted by Editor On August - 13 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

It seems that every year a new festival pops up on the summer landscape offering music, camping and letting go of the mundane people we sometimes are Monday to Friday. But none of them really offer anything that different… until this year that is.

Jacques takes us to Wonderland

This week two Belle’s popped through the looking glass and entered the fantastical world of The Jacques Townhouse.

This end of terrace property in the centre on London has been transformed into an urban orchard with fruit trees and fanciful pompoms in pastel shades by interior design genius David Carter. Known for his theatrical and quirkily retro installations David was given free rein to create this fairytale adventure with a slightly dark edge.

All the fun of the {food} fair

Old Spitalfields Market (OSM) is hosting a week-long celebration of all things culinary this week. A food fair always brings out the gourmet in me and knowing that I have a whole week to head to the city and enjoy the best food the capital has to offer has me pulling out my cookbooks and looking for fantastic new recipes that require unusual and high quality ingredients.
