Spa By Car – Mobile Beauty That Comes To You

Spa by CarMost ladies will agree; there are many factors that separate good spa experiences from the bad ones. And for the over-worked modern woman who needs to book in that vital ‘me time’ now and again, we like to get it right.

We’ve all had those ‘pamper’ packages you wish you’d never paid for. The therapist’s hands are like ice cubes, the music makes you feel like you’re in a lift, and a bubble bath at home would have been more relaxing.

So the right balance between the music, aromas, and therapist’s level of expertise can all sway your experience.

This led us to investigate the mobile spa service. We wondered, can time-deprived women seeking some spa ‘me’ time, achieve the same level of service in the comfort of their own home?

Spa by Car is a mobile beauty and spa service that offers 50 different treatments for anyone living within the M25.

I tried out their 50-minute combined facial and massage, and before I knew it, my living room was being transformed into a spa.

Spa by Car staff bring all the necessities – the massage bed, the products and towels, and even a few candles.

I wished I’d accompanied the therapist’s single tea light with a few of my own oil burners to achieve the scent you might get within an in-house spa. But still, as her iPod played some chill-out instrumentals, I managed to eventually switch off from work deadlines and chores.

The massage, was at times, quite painful as I’d specifically asked the therapist to tackle my knots. But the discomfort was helped by a luscious coconut oil with an aroma which made me dream up a tropical beach.

The best bit was probably the facial – a very thorough succession of exfoliating, calming and rejuvenating techniques – using products from the Spa Fabulous range throughout.

Following a rebalancing and a ‘glow bliss’ cleanser to boost circulation and skin tone, the therapist applied a microdermabrasion treatment to rid the skin of dead cells.

A range of purifying, calming and anti-ageing serums followed and I received a wonderful Shiatsu pressure point massage which helped ease in various parts of my face. All apprehension of being in my own home had well and truly drifted away.

A ‘coconut and calming’ facemask came next. And while it worked its magic I enjoyed a relaxing head massage. A spritz of Persian rose and honeysuckle toner, followed by an application of light moisturiser known as ‘a little pot of heaven’ and I was done. The result was new, refreshed and glowy skin.

As the therapist packed away the bed and jumped into her cute ‘Spa by Car mobile’, I felt quite smug that I didn’t have to step out onto a hectic London street, I could put my slippers back on and make a cup of tea.

It’s not just relaxation packages they offer either. Spa by Car also caters for ‘Spa parties’ as well as express spa treatments for those in a hurry. They’ll even set up a tanning booth in your house and bronze you with a range of St Tropez products.

You might not get the slick standards of a luxury spa, but for last minute and out of hour bookings in the comfort of your own four walls, Spa by Car is simply fabulous.

Spa by Car covers all areas within the M25. To book a treatment, visit SpabyCar.com or call 020 7209 2396.
