Showbiz Roundup: Shhh, did you hear?

Not Just A Sugar Daddy But A Father Figure Too
Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, who is best known for dating George Clooney, has revealed just what it was like to go out with the Oscar winner in a book about love. She contributed the insights to Italian journalist Bruno Vespa’s new book Questo Amore (This Love). She said that heartthrob Clooney, 50, was ‘the person who valued my feminine side the most’ and ‘also one of the best people I have met from a charitable point of view. George is a real gentleman even in his private life. I was very much respected both as a woman and partner.’
The 33-year-old also cleared up the rumours that it was her desire for marriage and children that eventually drove a wedge between the two. ‘George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids,’ she says. ‘I don’t put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs.’ But not all her comments were complimentary. ‘He has been a special for me, and very important, just as a father would be. Between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up ’til now.’ Just what is she implying…

Vanessa’s Sexy Back Wins Over Johnny
Meanwhile fellow heartthrob Johnny Depp has revealed just what it was about French singer Vanessa Paradis that had him turning his back on his wild lifestyle to finally settle down. ‘It was the Hotel Costes [in Paris],’ he recalled. ‘She was wearing a dress with an exposed back and I saw that back and that neck, and then she turned around and I saw those eyes, and — boom! My life as a single man was done. You have this feeling — I can’t really explain what it was, but I had it when I met her. I saw her across a room and thought: “What’s happening to me?”’
The couple, who are parents to Lily-Rose, 12 and Jack, nine, split their time between their homes in Southern France, Los Angeles and the Caribbean. ‘I don’t know how it works, but it does all work beautifully,’ Johnny admits. ‘Our family is not conventional,’ he says but who needs a conventional family when you look like Johnny and Vanessa and have homes all around the world!

Married Life Not Settling Kate Down
Many people thought that when hell-raising model Kate Moss finally tied the knot this year that it would be an end to her hedonistic single lifestyle. However it seems that Johnny Depp’s ex-girlfriend is not ready to make such big changes just yet. The 37-year-old mum of one decided to take a girly holiday to Jamaica with friend Sadie Frost, her daughter Lila Grace and Sadie’s daughter Iris to get over the ‘shock of marriage.’ And if you thought it was all going to yoga and lying by the pool you, onlookers have claimed that the girls are enjoying bottles of beer and Marlboro Lights for breakfast after a night of partying and rum cocktails. ‘It looked like it was a case of hair of the dog,’ the source told the Mail online. ‘Kate looked blotchy and worse for wear and knocked back three bottles of beer. She had enjoyed quite a big night, which kicked off with a soiree on their private veranda. The party drank three bottles of wine before heading over to the beach for a barbecue. They partied for hours and Kate obviously had to sleep it off.’ This will be dissappointing to Kate’s father Peter who thought that marriage would finally settle his famous daughter down. ‘We like Jamie, he’s a good influence,’ ha apparently told Kate just before their summer wedding. ‘You’ve got to calm down at some time and I’m hoping Jamie is a part of that.’ He probably hoped he would be too!

Robert and Kristen Married!
Twilight star Robert Pattinson, 25, has told a press conference that he and co-star girlfriend Kristen Stewart, 21, got married – by accident. The couple, who have been dating since 2008 have only recently admitted that they are an item but it seems that when they were filming the wedding scene for upcoming movie Breaking Dawn, the director went for realism all the way. ‘The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest. So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony,’ Pattinson joked. When journalists probed Pattinson further asking if the couple were now man and wife he clarified the situation saying ‘We don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married.’ This will be a relief to Pattinson’s female fans across the globe knowing that he is still on the market – well sort of!

Guess Who – Secret Gossip
[from CDAN] This former reality star turned celebrity turned reality judge had the biggest attitude at an event this week. It was about fashion so of course she thought she knew the most and anyone who had a differing opinion with her was told, “Until you have a fashion line, then all you have is an opinion. I know what I am talking about.” She then looked at another former reality star from a show I hated with a passion and refuse to acknowledge even existed who had a fashion line and said, “Until you have a successful fashion line.” She then turned and walked off.
