Hollywood Glamour
“The likes of Catherine Zeta Jones, Helen Hunt, Reese Witherspoon and Naomie Harris all played with old school glamour but Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain epitomised this look for me, with on-trend coppery auburn locks that tumbled loosely over her shoulders and complemented her flesh coloured gown and cool skin tone to perfection. Keeping it straighter on the top area of the head brings this 40’s inspired look up to date” said Jamie.
To re-create Jessica’s gorgeous waves, Jamie suggests, “After blow-drying the hair, comb in a deep side parting and set the hair on heated rollers, focusing on the mid-lengths to the ends and leave to set. Once set, brush the curls out using a flat paddle brush and finish with a polishing serum and a hairspray to hold such as Matrix Vavoom Freezing Spray”.
Soft Updo’s
“A dominant trend on the Oscar’s red carpet was the swept back, effortlessly chic and timeless loose up-do as shown on Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, as well as Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Amy Adams and Alicia Vikander”.
A pretty hairstyle that complemented their overall fairytale looks, Jamie says of this trend “For me Naomi Watts looked incredible and worked this trend to the maximum. Soft, romantic updo’s like these, looser is better, which makes them easy to achieve!
Simply blow-dry using a texturising cream such as Matrix Design Pulse Loosely Defined. Backcomb for volume at the crown and gather the hair back into a low slung bun with grips. Gently tease and fluff the sides to loosen the hair for a soft finish and spritz a firm but touchable hairspray to keep the look in place, such as Matrix Vavoom Freezing Spray”.
Straight Hair
“Polished straight hair is back to the forefront as seen at S/S’13 shows such as Lacoste, Celine, Emilio Pucci and Michael Kors. We saw lots of this on the red carpet with stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Hudson all embracing this new simplicity” said Jamie.
To get that super sleek look Jamie says, “it is all in the prep so make sure you’re using smoothing shampoos and conditioners. Arm yourself with a good heat protective spray such as Matrix Design Pulse Iron In before using straightening irons and if you try to straighten too hair much at once this can result in ridges forming at the roots, so the thinner the section you take, the better the result. Rihanna A Bad Role Model?
Rihanna has admitted to Oprah Winfrey last night that she misses her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, despite the fact that he was charged with assaulting her three years ago. The singer told the talk show hostess that says Brown ‘made a mistake’ and ‘needed help’ adding that she misses him. She said she “felt protective” of Brown following the 2009 beating that occurred after the Grammy Award ceremony. “I lost my best friend. Like, everything I knew switched – switched overnight,’ she tearfully said of the ‘embarrassing’ incident. Who’s gonna help him? Nobody’s gonna say he needs help. Everybody’s gonna say he’s a monster without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him.’ Her admissions have angered charities however as they feel it sends the wrong message to battered women. ”Rihanna’s case demonstrates the emotional complexities felt by women locked in abusive relationships,” Vivienne Hayes, chief executive of the Women’s Resource Centre. “Whatever the nature of the argument, [Brown] chose to beat her up. And we need to stop society allowing us to normalise such behaviour.”
Despite her confessions Rihanna does seem to have learnt from her past relationships saying she now knows what she is looking for in a man. “If I had it my way I want a man that loves me, cherishes me, values me, but they have to know my value in order to value me,” she said. “‘They have to know my worth and they can only know my worth if I know my worth. I want them to respect me.” Absolutely!
I’ve tried to copy her hair, clothes and makeup, re-enacted her dance routines for the pleasure of my primary school class and brownie pack, and wallpapered my bedroom walls with pictures of her. This would be highly disturbing behaviour if the person in question didn’t happen to be the long-reigning Queen of the pop tune, Madonna.
Ashton and Mila’s Romance Hots Up
They’ve know each other for 15 years so when Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were seen out and about after his split from Demi, their excuse that they were just old friend was an easy one to believe. However it seems that there really is more to their relationship. The couple was seen openly kissing and cuddling as Mila joined Ashton at the wrap party for his new film Jobs.
Mila recently said, in an interview with Elle Magazine: “I am totally single… Listen, we hang out. We’ve known each other for 15 years. We have mutual friends. We’re comfortable with one another. That’s it! There’s no crazy love story, nothing more.”
She continued by saying she has problems finding a man to date: “Is a guy going to come up to me and ask if he can take me out on a date?” Well it seems that it is no longer a problem judging by the couple’s public display of affection!
Katy Perry Opens Up About Her Divorce
Katy Perry has finally opened up about her split from hubby Russell Brand. In her documentary Part Of Me, the singer has revealed that her touring schedule took a huge toll on her relationship with comic Russell.
“I thought to myself, ‘When I find that person that’s going to be my life partner, I won’t ever have to choose [between the partner and my career] … they won’t be threatened or have weird motives,” Katy says. “Then I started to realize, that’s not true. That fairytale I had is not true for me right now.”
But while she gave an insight into what went wrong she held back from revealing all the reasons that the pair’s marriage ended in divorce.
“I didn’t get too detailed about the specifics because I believe that that’s only supposed to be between the two people that are in it,” Katy told Access Hollywood. “I just wanted to encourage people to let them know that it’s ok if they have problems. It’s ok if they’re going through a situation, they don’t have to lay down and die.”
Katy does say in the documentary that she did everything she could to save her marriage. “I have that same belief system with everything, from career to my life to my personal life, everything. And I will do everything it takes to not fail. And I did everything it took but it still failed.” Russell filed for divorce from Katy after 14 months of marriage.
Paris Reveals What Growing Up With Michael Jackson Was Like
Paris Jackson has revealed to Oprah that she found it very confusing as a child when her late father Michael Jackson would make her and her brothers wear masks in public. Michael would get Paris and her brothers Prince Michael and Prince Michael II, also known as Blanket, to wear the mask in a bid to protect their privacy. ‘I was really confused,’ the teen said when she opened up to Oprah. ‘I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask. But I understand it now – why my dad would want our faces to be covered. When we went out without him we wouldn’t be recognized.’ She says that wearing the masks have helped her and her brothers live a childhood, which she describes as ‘normal’. ‘We had a normal childhood – including trips to the children’s arcade and restaurant Chuck E. Cheese’s,’ she recalls. Explaining that her father wanted a different childhood than he had experienced she said: ‘He told us that when he was younger he didn’t really have a childhood. He would always be stuck in the studio singing while the kids were out playing. He wanted us to have that.’ Talking about the death of her father Michael she said: ‘It never gets any easier.’

Are Demi and Ashton Getting Back Together?
She finally changed her twitter handle to @JustDemi but Demi Moore still seems to be holding off on actually filing for divorce from Ashton Kutcher and there may be a good reason why. It seems friends of the couple think that we may yet see a reconciliation. The pair met up recently at a Kabbalah dinner to celebrate the birthday of Rabbi Yehuda Berg, who officiated at their wedding, and when they spotted each other they embraced tenderly. ‘Demi went over to wish Yehuda a happy birthday and Ashton was right by him. Yehuda left them to talk. They started to chat and were extremely affectionate. She was staring at him like a lovesick puppy,’ the source told the Sunday Mirror. Ashton, who was giving a speech at the dinner, recounted what a difficult year it had been for him saying: ‘I’ve made all these horrendous mistakes in the last year.’ Sources at the event told the publication that Ashton broke down. ‘Ashton’s voice started to break as he spoke. He just fell into tears. He sat down to a round of applause while Demi just looked frozen.’ The couple, who announced in November last year they were to divorce have yet to start the proceedings. ’They are still desperately in love and could be on for a reconciliation,’ a source said. ‘The divorce isn’t being processed right now.’ And it seems that Demi may be thinking about second chances too as she has posted some cryptic remarks on twitter including ‘This seems a fitting thought: When your mind says give up, hope whispers one more try’ and retweeting rapper Wiz Khalifa which read: ‘We all make mistakes. Don’t let that be the reason you give up on somebody, ‘and The Love Stories: ‘Sometimes you have to love people from a distance and give them a space and time to get their minds right’.
