Here New York interior designer Angela Teater, writer of the blog Life, Love and Luxury and owner of Angela Lee Interior Design gives us her top interior tips for 2012 and how to achieve them.

Those who enjoyed Glastonbury last weekend were treated to the worst and the best of weather but after two days of rain and then two days of sun we are preparing for the next festival in comfort – in our own back garden!
There have been some fabulously vivid hues on the catwalk this season and these colours can brighten our mood and put a spring in our step when we wear them. However these fashionable shades don’t have to remain in our wardrobes – they are also perfect accent colours for our homes.
Brushed metal furniture may give you impressions of a 1980s bachelor pad that tended to be all black leather and chrome but it can also hark back to an era of sophistication and class – that of the 1920s and 30s. The art deco period with its use of chrome, simplified lines and few embellishments was seen as glamorous, elegant, functional and modern and over 80 years later it can still feel like that.
