The Spotlight’s On Seven Dials This Saturday!

Spotlight returns to London’s distinctive shopping and dining destination, Seven Dials, this Saturday (13th August) with a free one-day music, comedy and arts festival.

From 12-7pm the area will be transformed into a traffic-free, entertainment hot spot where Londoners and tourists alike can enjoy a series of free live performances, as well as exclusive activities and promotions in over 120 shops and restaurants. An open-air stage will showcase an impressive line-up of performances hosted by TV and radio presenter George Lamb.

Our sources tell us that opening the festival is an exclusive show piece from legendary West End show Motown the Musical.

Highlights of the event include traffic-free streets lined with activities including giant Seven Dials letters for stencilling, festival flower headbands from The Flower Appreciation Society, live art from Margaux Carpentier, airstream photobooth, crazy golf, pop-up tea garden and a free glass of prosecco from Frizzente!

Everything on offer can be enjoyed on the pop-up lawn around the dial complete with deck chairs and green grass. In between performances, visitors can shop independent boutiques and flagship stores offering exclusive instore discounts and promotions including 20% discount at French beauty boutique Caudalie, eyewear experts Bailey Nelson, British saddle experts B1866 in addition to free personalisation and Neal’s Yard Remedies. Exclusive 15% discount at the Miller Harris Seven Dials store, bareMinerals and Benefit.

If all that shopping seems a bit tiring, we’re told there will be plenty of opportunities to refuel at one of the ten top restaurants offering cuisines from around the world, all hosting alfresco dining. From Portuguese specialists Canela, pizza and cocktail enthusiasts Escapologist, award winning macarons at Pierre Herme’s indulgent garden, Italian delights at Wildwood Kitchen, all day dining menu at Balans Soho Society, cold brew coffee at award winning café Timberyard and sourdough pizza specialists Rossopomodoro, there’s sure to be something to satisfy your tastebuds! Rossopomodoro will even be offering pizza and pasta making workshops, for anyone wanting to work for their supper! The Crown & Anchor will be offering a 10% discount on food and drink for the day.

Seven Dials is an area familiar to Londoners for its shops and restaurants, but how many of us think of it as a destination in itself as opposed to an area we rush through on our way to something else? It seems Saturday may change this habit for us and many more. Let us know what you think if you make it down on the day…
