A Sundae Full Of Fun

We love ice-cream, music festivals and British summer fairs and there is one festival that brings them all together, the Ben & Jerry’s Sundae festival.

It is a Double Scoop Sundae Festival this year as the festival is running not just in London but in Manchester as well. Maxïmo Park and Ocean Colour Scene will join other moo-sical acts on stage at the festival which will be held at Manchester’s Heaton Park as well as taking up residence in its usual Clapham Common location in London on the 23rd and 24th July.

Talking about why Manchester has joined their venue’s the Legen-dairy ice cream makers said: ‘Well, we think it’s pretty unfair that Sundae on the Common has only ever been enjoyed by Londoners. It’s only fair that Ben & Jerry’s spread the love up north to the bright lights of Manchester where Sundae will transform Heaton Park into a two day ice cream bash. Heaton Park is no stranger to hosting big music events (ehem Oasis), so what better venue for a Sundae in the Park?’

As ever, there will be fun-filled activities for everyone, including fairground attractions, social activism and plenty of hoof tapping! And of course, the traditional petting farm and less traditional bare toe wrestling will be back by popular demand.

Maxïmo Park, who will headline the Manchester festival on Saturday 23rd July and the London festival on Sunday 24th July, join Gary Numan, The Duke & The King, Little Comets and Sound of Rum on stage for the musical extravaganza. Ocean Colour Scene will headline London on Saturday 23rd July and Manchester on Sunday 24th July, where they’ll be ably supported by multi-platinum rock outfit Ash, Fun Lovin Criminals and a host of other great acts.

Tickets for both venues are on sale through www.benjerry.co.uk/sundae now!

  1. Went once. I had 3 ice creams and 1 sorbet and felt sick. My friends all managed at least 10! What a wimp. Loads of them going this year, but I’m giving it a miss. Thought of all that ice cream still sends me a bit funny! Is good for just a one-day festival though.
