Crafty Easter Decorating Ideas
With Easter this weekend there is no doubt that we will be indulging in our fair share of chocolate eggs and enjoying the four day weekend – hopefully in the sunshine. But it is also a fabulous reason to get the family together, brighten the house with some decorations and start some new family traditions for this spring holiday.

Catherine Davis of the Design Editor blog gives a really simple tutorial on how to make this very cute wreath. We have seen packs of the chicks at Poundland so it needn’t cost a lot either!
Silk Dyed Eggs
Forget dip dying or painting eggs, how about transferring silk patterns onto your eggs this Easter! Sara Wells and Kate Jones run a website called Our Best Bites and Sara give a great tutorial on just how to achieve this look. You need 100% silk fabric to achieve this so rather than raid your partner’s ties, start looking for silk ties, shirts or scarves at your local charity store now!
Bird’s Nest Cookies
Kara Cook has a cute little site called Creations By Kara and her cookies will entice the young and the young at heart this Easter. Go to her website for the recipe and directions to make your own!
Egg Shell Decorations
When cooking or baking this week, instead of breaking the eggs in half, just break the tops off and then you can use the shells to help create some wonderful table decorations for Easter. Martha Stewart has these two fabulous ideas of eggshell vases and eggshell candles – you can colour coordinate them with the rest of you table decorations.
