Summer Colour Hair Trends 2012

Hair Trends 2012

Hair Trends 2012We’ve done ombre dip-dyed hair, bleached our barnet until it broke off, and had chunky highlights put in around the parting but thanks in part to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, a more natural colouring of your hair is the top trend this summer.  The perfect no colour hair colour is a sophisticated style that upper east side  New York princesses have been rocking for years. If you dread losing the quirky edge that us Londoners are known for, don’t fear, there is the perfect style for your inspired by the ice-cream shades from the catwalk.

Here Siobhan Jones, Headmasters Colour Director, reveals the three top colour trends for summer.

Super Naturals

“Inspired by style icon and all round British sweetheart Kate Middleton the catwalks and celebs alike have opted for the Duchesses healthy, wearable, gorgeous hue.  In ode to Kate, Headmasters created Super Naturals, it transforms hair so it looks radiant and healthy with a subtle hint of colour.  It’s perfect for brunettes or natural blondes who want to achieve expensive looking colour with almost no re-growth.  We paint super fine ribbons of carefully selected colour a couple of shades lighter or darker than the natural colour throughout the top layer and around the hairline. Followed by a glossing which delicately lifts the skin tone, highlighting features and covering first greys whilst ensuring re-growth is kept to a minimum for a healthy, luminous, glossy colour.”

Pretty In Pastels

“I love the rainbow colour trend that took the catwalks by storm, from Peter Som to Mulberry they all opted for candyfloss cool colour. Pretty in Pastels is Headmasters answer to this, it’s a fresh take on the cute-punk colour for the girl who has always wanted to push boundaries whilst still looking pretty and girly. To achieve, we mix pastel washes of sorbet pink and denim blue in between gorgeous gold tones for a super-luxe feel.  We make sure the dip dyed ends come from under the hairline for a subtle hint of colour, remember to ask your stylist to select the pastel tone that will work best for you and your complexion, once you have done this just have fun with it.”

Super Fine Baby Lights

“Spring/ Summer 2012 saw a return to natural hair colour, Elie Saab, Chloe and Isabell Marrant opted for this adding delicate hints of colour for an understated super healthy look.  Exclusive to Headmasters salons Super Fine Baby Lights is perfect for girls who like to pretend they have given mother-nature no help.  We weave ultra fine lightened pieces through the hair for a subtle, shiny glow, enhancing natural tones, with virtually no colour commitment.”

All available at Headmasters nationwide starting from £55.

  1. I loved the third one, the one with Super fine baby highlights. It looks super cool and brings out great texture. Would suit my straight hair perfectly!!
