Designers once again looked to times past as old-fashioned glamour featured heavily on the catwalks at Paris Couture Spring 2012. From Givenchy’s roaring 20s long lines to the womanly silhouettes of the 40s and 50s at Christian Dior. British designer Bill Gaytten has filled the hole that John Galliano left at fashion house Dior with his unceremonious exit last year. Gaytten’s creations were a nod to Hollywood’s golden era and Dior’s own ‘New Look’ from the late 40s, which he must hope will cement him as the lead creative designer for Dior rather than be replaced with a new big-name designer brought in.  Read more... Demi’s Daughter With Her When She Collapsed
It seems that Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis was by her mother’s side when she collapsed last monday night. During the emergency services call, the caller can be heard asking for the address saying: ’Hey, Ru, what’s the name at the gate so that we can buzz them [the paramedics] in from here?’. Reports have claimed that Demi was inhaling nitrous oxide (nicknamed whip-it) and smoking a synthetic marijuana known as K2 before her sudden collapse and seizure. However the Los Angeles district attorney has said all drug references must be removed from the 911 recording to protect Demi’s privacy. The actress is recovering well now with director Patty Jenkins saying at the Directors Guild Awards in Hollywood: ‘I just saw her and she’s doing great, Demi is awesome and so strong.’ Friend and actress Kirstie Alley has also expressed concern that Demi has had to play this troubled time out in the public eye. ‘It’s sad that a lot of stuff is public knowledge,’ she says. ‘With situations like this, you could deal without everybody knowing about it. From what I know of her and from people who know her say, she’s an amazing, strong woman and I hope she’ll be all right.’ Let’s hope she is!  Read more... Today is the start of the Chinese year of the Dragon. In Eastern philosophy, this mythical creature is the deliverer of good fortune, fertility, master of authority and a symbol of immense power.  A dragon year is a year of big projects, innovative ideas and great outcomes – it promises success, particularly in business. In general, I think we all look a great deal better than we did in our 20s. Recently, when moving house, I found some shocking pictures of myself after university. Big frizzy hair, even bigger eyebrows and a terrible habit of wearing overly-baggy clothes.
